Otters are the subject of a talk in Exmouth on Monday, October 14.

The Devon Wildlife Trust's Exmouth group is hosting the event, called Tales of Tarka, at Glenorchy Church.

The speaker, Dave Webb, is the founder and chairman of the Devon-based UK Wild Otter Trust.

He will be talking about the way otters live in the wild, and how the actions of humans have caused their numbers to decline.

Mr Webb will also describe the work of his charity, which rehabilitates injured and orphaned otter cubs at its centre in Winkleigh, and cares for a captive otter called Squeak which cannot cope with life in the wild.

The trust runs a young ambassador Scheme for children, supported by Chris Packham CBE.

Mr Webb is a keen wildlife photographer, so his talk will be illustrated with pictures.

The event, which is the first in the group's series of winter talks, will take place at 7.30pm.

Admission is £3 and includes a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.
