Real ale fans give the Exmouth pub a vote of confidence

The Bicton Inn has been named as the Campaign for Real Ale’s Members’ Choice pub for the second time, as part of the annual Pub of the Year awards.

The Exeter and East Devon branch of CAMRA voted for their favourite real ale pub in the area, based on various criteria.

A CAMRA spokesperson said: “Obviously good quality real ale, which is consistently served, is one of the main factors. The Bicton Inn offers up to eight real ales, mostly locally sourced.

“Taking these and other factors into consideration you can see why our members voted the Bicton Members Choice 2019, which is no small feat considering there are around 600 licensed pubs in the Exeter & East Devon branch area. We are absolutely delighted to be able to give the Bicton Inn this award. It is a tribute to Alison Brockbank and her staff for their hard work in making this such a great pub – congratulations.”
