Exmouth Photo Group takes a trip down memory lane to recreate scenes from old photographs of Exmouth.
Exmouth Photo Group is now in its summer season, with indoor meetings replaced by photographic outings to various locations.
In June the group went on an historical walk along Exmouth seafront. Local historian Mary Solway had provided old photos of buildings and gardens, and the challenge was to try to find where the original photographer had stood when taking the picture, and recreate the scene as it looks today - not as easy as it sounds.
The pictures featured here are the modern shots partially overlaid with the historical photographs.
Some buildings, such as the Tower of the Four Winds, are no longer present. Some, like the clock tower, are virtually unchanged, while others have seen major structural changes over the years.
